Chaianne:

Chaianne is our darling and the backbone of the Hope Cottage team. In March 2004 she was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia M5 and our peaceful world was plunged into a nightmare of hospitals, treatments, bad prognosis, strokes, ICU, chemotherapy, bone marrow transplants and finally remission. Chaianne has now been in remission since August 2004, each day she remains in remission decreases her chances of a recurrence of the AML.

Our Mission Statement:

When a family learns that their child's life may be threatened by a serious illness, their lives are turned upside down. We at the Chaianne Ramage Foundation and our volunteers work to provide an oasis for families during a very difficult, emtionally challenging and chaotic time.

Hope Cottage offers our families a hand to hold and a listening ear in a safe haven to unwind from the stress of the hospital, and the understanding and support of other parents and compassionate staff and volunteers.

The Mission of the Chaianne Ramage Foundation Inc/Hope Cottage Australia is;

  • To offer free, well maintained home-style accommodation for seriously ill children and their families during and after illness.
  • To assure the continuous operation of Hope Cottage in a safe and secure manner.
  • To enrich the quality of life for children and families under treatment at local and out of area hospitals.
  • To offer financial assistance to families with a child suffering a serious illness at times of financial hardship in a confidential manner.
  • Assist other Charities with a similar mission.
  • To provide care and support by professional staff and trained volunteers.
  • To raise funds necessary for the perpetual operation of Hope Cottages and to finance programs offered by the Foundation.
  • Over the next several years, we foresee many new challenges related to higher operating costs, growing service demands, and more complex fundraising issues. Through efficient operations, strong community partnerships, and a prudent use of funds and a prudent use of funds, Hope Cottage will remain available for Families in need of comfort and care.
Statement of Values

As a caring professional team, we believe in a nurturing family-centered environment that is safe, comfortable, and compassionate. We are dedicated to serving children and their families in a manner that is always friendly, supportive, respectful, and responsive to their individual needs.
